About the Foundation

The Polish-American Freedom Foundation was established in the US by the Polish-American Enterprise Fund. In 2000 PAFF began its operations and opened the Representative Office in Poland. The Foundation’s goal is to support the development of civil society, democracy and market economy in Poland, including efforts to equalize opportunities for personal and social development, as well as to support the transformation processes in other countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Lane Kirkland Scholarships for the 2010/11 academic year

The Polish-American Freedom Foundation (the Founder of the Program) and the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission (the Program Manager) announce an open competition addressed to candidates from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia as well as Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for Lane Kirkland Scholarships in the 2010/11 academic year. Applications are being until March 15th, 2010.

''Equal Opportunities'' – All-Poland Grant Competition
''Equal Opportunities'' – All-Poland Grant Competition

The Polish Children and Youth Foundation invites you to take part in the All-Poland Grant Competition – part of the PAFF’s “Equal Opportunities 2010” Program. Its purpose is to equalize educational opportunities of young people from rural areas and small towns. The application deadline for the first stage of the competition is February 22nd, 2010.

Leadership Day

As part of the "PAFF Leaders" Program, various activities were carried out on Leadership Day observed on January 7th. Meetings and debates were held in such places as Poznań, Grójec, Ciechanowiec, Ciechocinek, Byczyna and Bonin. Warsaw’s Tarabuk Café, operated by one of the Program’s graduates, was the venue of a discussion devoted to the question: “What can we learn from local leaders?”.

2009 ''Benefactor of the Year'' – application deadline February 7th

The Competition rewards companies and foundations set up by them, which are involved in social undertakings and, when carrying them out, cooperate with non-governmental organizations. Applications are being accepted until February 7th, 2010 by the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland. Prizes for this year’s edition are provided by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.

Bridge Scholarships – Study Abroad
Bridge Scholarships – Study Abroad

Eligible to apply for “Study Abroad” scholarships are students who have received grants from the Bridge Scholarships Program, have received very good grades in their studies and have qualified for the SOCRATES-Erasmus student-exchange program at their universities. Applications are being accepted by the Educational Enterprise Foundation until March 30.

On December 4th, Gala of the PAFF’s “PROJECTOR - Student Volunteers” Program took place at Warsaw’s Foksal Press Center. During the event its 2009 achievements were summed up and presented. A special guest of the Gala was Krzysztof Stanowski, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Education.
